One of this six principal organs of the United Nations, Security Council is charged with the maintenance of international peace and security, as wells accepting new members to the UN & approving any changes to its UN Charter.
Security council being the only UN body to issue binding resolutions to member states, has established itself as one of the most powerful & influential international institution.
Comprising of 15 members, out of which are 5 permanent ones, – Security Council generally enforces it’s resolutions through UN Peacekeepers.
“Security lies at the heart of our lives.”
Having held it’s first session on January 17th, 1946 – SC , now meets annually at the Security Council chambers.
There have been times, when Security Council has faced staunch criticism, due to it’s veto power – because of which ,it has been accused of being undemocratic by its critics.
The simulation of Security Council at YWLS 2017- promises to be one of it’s kind.

UNHRC

With this we introduce you with the 3rd Committee to be simulated at YWLS 2017- United Nations Human Rights Council/UNHRC
An inter-governmental body within UN system comprising of 47 member states, HRC is charged with promotion & maintenance of human rights around the world.
Successor to previously formed UNCHR , and a subsidiary body of General Assembly ,HRC works closely with the Office of High Commissioner on Human Rights.
The UNGA elects the members to HRC, on a two year term basis.
Holding it’s first session in 2006, UNHRC now has regular session three-times in a year.
Also , addressing important thematic Human rights issue it acts & performs through various commissions and subsidiary bodies.

With this we present you the 4th committee to be simulated at YWLS-2017 :- “United Nations- NGO Forum”.

UN-NGO Forum is an annual joint conference of United Nations and Non-Governmental organizations {NGOs} ,whose main purpose is to increase the dialogue & cooperation between two agencies of the world,having power to bring about a social change.
It is a special kind of simulation, at an MUN where delegates , take their ideas and translate them into action plans, while representing various NGOs and agencies.
We, at YWLS 2017 promise to make this simulation an interesting one.

AIPPM

With this we present you the 5th Committee to be simulated at YWLS 2017- All India Political Parties Meet/AIPPM
AIPPM, is a non-technical yet powerful body, supplementary to the parliament created to allow unrestricted political debate & reduce the time taken in actual legislative process.
This simulation, promises to be one of it’s kind with intense debate & learning , not restricted by Rules of Parliament. AIPPM , although follow a common set of ROPs.
Comprising of Representatives from Various political parties of our Nation & including the members of bureaucracy & government, AIPPM @ YWLS 2017 promises to be a happening one.

Every conference has a special feature & Stakeholders Meet is ours.
Stakeholders Meet at YWLS 2017 will be a committee, which will test both the spontaneity and preparation of delegates. Here, delegates will take on the roles of Political & Bureaucratic personalities of India, and come together for a brainstorming debate to arrive at a solution .
YWLS 2017 promises to be an extraordinary experience, and Stakeholders is just the beginning.
